Week 7 College Picks

Loyal followers, your loyalty to the doctors of footballology has not been in vain. After this past weekend, we are 6-1 in our prognostication of college football point spreads. You and your buddies could have had a nice tailgate party this weekend on your winnings, had you been following our advice. (for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY, AS USUAL) Let's not waste anyone's valuable time. Let's cut to the chase.

USC -10 @ Notre Dame

Ok, just an update for you domers, Charlie Weis is still the head coach, and is still the worst N.D. head man since Gerry Faust. There, we said it, and all of you who love the Golden Dome, the sometimes worn green jerseys, win one for the Gipper, RU-DY RU-DY, just cringed as if we drug our nails down a chalk board. Sometimes coaches are just a bad idea from one level to another, just as Faust's leap from High School to Notre Dame was a horrific idea, so is Weis from cheating NFL offensive coordinator to Notre Dame. Chubby has had such a bad run to this point, he tore his MCL and ACL when he was unable to get out of the path of continuing action into the sideline, much the same way he same way he has been unable to avoid the annual steamrolling courtesy of the Trojans. This year will be no different. Weis is 0-4 vs. USC, losing by an average of 24 pts. Freshman phenom Matt Barkley is at full strength, and the Trojans will again roll. INSIDE PICK U.S.C.

University of Miami -14.5 @ Central Florida

With Jacory Harris running the show, the U is back. And, as a general rule anytime you can get a midseason out of conference matchup you want to jump on it. The U took out Bobby Stoops and the Sooners, and with his players in his system, after 3 years, Head Coach Randy Shannon has the 'Canes clicking. In addition, Conference USA is not recognized by the BCS, and for good reason. 3 teams from C-USA West, and 2 from C-USA East should be eligible for the FCS (formerly 1-AA) playoffs. INSIDE PICK the U!!!

Oklahoma St. -7 vs. Missouri
Last week the Blackshirts of Nebraska drew up a blueprint in the 4th quarter of how to rattle Mizzou soph. QB Blaine Gabbert. They forced the first two picks of his career with relentless pressure. If the Cowboys can pressure him, in his first road conference game in hostile Stillwater, the 'boys will be golden. Last season, Ok St. took out the Tigers in Columbia, this time at home, and with Dez Bryant back, they'll be even better. INSIDE PICK Oklahoma St.

Texas -3.5 vs. Oklahoma

The theme of the season thus far for the Sooners is, oh how we miss our O-line from last year. A relatively slow BYU front was able to create havoc for Bradford, Miami exploited the lack of blocking, the Texas front seven will have a field day. Texas Head Coach Mack Brown has taken care of business against the Sooners 4 years in a row by an average of 17 pts. The Texas D creates pressure, forcing bad decisions, which has led to their 8 picks as a unit. INSIDE PICK Texas
