Week Six College Picks

Well, faithful followers, I see that you're curious enough to come back to see if we can keep our college picks against the spread streak going. 4-0 and counting. Just as any good doctor would tell you, everything in moderation. In other words, don't go overboard. Find a few games that you're confident with and load up on those instead of a little; on a lot of different games. Take that as your first piece of FREE advice this week. With that in mind, here are our week 6 picks.

Auburn -3 at Arkansas
Auburn is the # 1 team in total offense in the country. This stat is due in large part to Head Coach Gene Chizik's first hire, offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn. Malzahn was the offensive coordinator at the University of Tulsa, where they were the #1 offense in the country in '07 and '08. When you take that scheme, and put SEC caliber players in it, you have a high powered offensive concoction. That combined with Arkansas being the 97th ranked defense in the country makes this an easy pick. Inside pick... Auburn -3

Alabama -6.5 at Ole Miss

Alabama head coach Nick Saban has won his last five meetings with Ole Miss, that's with both LSU and 'Bama. This Crimson Tide team is arguably better than Saban's 2003 Nat'l Championship team at LSU, and the stable of Tide RB's (Mark Ingram, freshman phenom Trent Richardson, Terry Grant and Roy Upchurch) has already eclipsed the 1000 yd. mark. Add to that the fact that Ole Miss hasn't seen anyone with near the talent level of the Tide, you can be confident that 'Bama will cover. Inside pick... Alabama -6.5

Michigan + 7.5 at Iowa
Loyal followers, don't be fooled by Iowa's win over Penn St. Iowa had 4 takeaways against Penn St. and only won by 11 pts. Also, Northern Iowa and Arkansas St. both went to Iowa and Iowa won those games by a combined 4 pts. The Footballology professors here think Iowa will not cover the 7.5 pts. against Michigan. And, it might even be an outright Michigan win. Inside pick... Michigan +7.5

There you have it. That's right, only 3 games. Everything in moderation. If you get ahead of yourself, you're destined to lose. There are a few other marginal games, but nothing that the doctors here are comfortable recommending. Pick these three, and be a happy winner of 3.
